Deutsche Boxwurst
The first German version of Destructo Box is set to launch on the Germondo Minishows channel today. We’ve had fan dubs of previous episodes come to our attention at various times, but this is the first conscious and deliberate effort to broaden the fan base, globally, in a significant way… and I’m preparing for the best?
Let me explain: I have this nagging suspicion that we are destined to find success, but in some bizarre and ridiculous circumstance like being huge in Germany, landing some sort of German television deal, and then thriving in a market 1000s of miles away under the radar of most audiences within which we are actually a part. I mean, our cartoon is laced with poop and sex jokes, and other than what I can remember from my 7th grade German class and persistent Hasselhoff quips, that’s what I know of the German condition.
Of course success of any kind would be great, and ideally a step towards other creative and personal triumphs, but it’s still a strange sensation deep in the pit of my gut. Or the gut of my gut. I could just be hungry for beer at brats. Seems like a typical 10 AM on a Friday craving.
